Ccotos Community
This community is in the Capachica peninsula, at 69km on the North-West of Puno, at 2h by bus (collective). Ccotos community has a range of islands (Tikonata, Uki, Lagarto and Cayen). Warm accommodations belong to this community, with view on the majestic Titicaca Lake. Host families provide food for visitors.
Chifrón Community
Chifrón community is situated at 62km from Puno, 38km from Juliaca and at 15km from Capachica, the district capital, on the edges of Titicaca Lake. It has a long sand beach that allows visitors to take advantage of Titicaca Lake’s crystal clear waters. The community is surrounded by natural watch towers along the coast that are ideal to carry out coca leaf ritual ceremonies. Amantaní Island
Amantaní Island is a territory with an area of 9,28 km₂, and a diameter average of 3,4 km.
Its shape is at first sight circular, and one of its profile looks like a toad.
This is the island of dream and delight, situated at 38 km from the inside of Titicaca Lake, at an altitude of 3817 m.
Taquile Island
Taquile Island is on Titicaca Lake, at 2h from Chifrón and 1h from Amantaní by boat and at 35km in the North of Puno. This is one of the biggest islands of Titicaca Lake, well known as « The Sons of Sun Island ». There, travelers will be able to climb a 520-step stairs to reach the wonderful view of Taquile Island square. Moreover, crafts of Taquile Island are registered to the UNESCO World Heritage.
Tikonata Island
