During this trip, you will discover the wonderful Titicaca islands, you will take part in a typical weaving work group and you will live authentic experiences with host-families. You will share an unforgettable moment in Quechuas’ and Aymaras’ land.
DESCRIPTION:
DAY 1: Puno –Uros floating islands – Llachón
7h: Transfer by taxi from the hotel to the principal port to board up to Uros floating islands. Exhibition and participation to authentic activities of the island: Farm products exchange, seaweed, fishes and reed’s family plants . Discover the beauty of the islands with a boat trip, and take part in cultural exchanges with the Uros. Then, lunch with the families of Llachón. On the afternoon, explore the Titicaca legends on a kayak trip. Before to sleep, share a cultural evening around a fire.
DAY 2: Llachón –Taquile Island – Amantaní Island
8h: Breakfast of typical dishes with a panoramic view over Titicaca Lake. Let’s boat to Taquile Island (1h). Take part in a weaving work group. Typical lunch. Take the direction of Amantaní Island where the families will welcome you. Walk up to the ceremonial center Pachatata or Pachamama (around 2h). Explanations on agriculture methods, customs and traditions and admire a work with stone demonstration. Before the dinner with the families, visit the Principal Square of the island.
DAY 3: Amantaní Island – Tikonata Island – beach of Chifrón – Puno
8h: Breakfast of typical dishes and pisé-making (made with earth and clay). Departure from Amantaní Island on a veil-boat, up to Tikonata Island. Take part in traditional fishing. Then, visit
the Archeology and cultural interpretation of pre Inca Tiahuanaco mommies’ museum. Typical lunch with the families. Rest a bit on the wonderful beach of Chifrón before to go back to Puno.
